GYROTONIC® / GYROKINESIS®
PATRIE SARDO
FULLY CERTIFIED LEVEL I GYROTONIC® AND GYROKINESIS® INSTRUCTOR
I was an actress in California and became a wife and mom in my 40’s. I was an avid runner and discovered Gyrotonic Movement in 2006 at age 52 while seeking relief from chronic hip pain. I tried yoga, Pilates, physical therapy, weight training, massage, acupuncture, orthotics, shoe lifts, to no avail. The minute I experienced the Gyrotonic Tower, I felt immediate relief and became intrigued. I threw myself into the study of Gyrotonic Expansion System. The desire to share this work with others led me to become certified in Gyrotonic Level I and Level II, Gyrokinesis Level I, the GYROTONER®, Jumping Stretching Board, Leg Extension, Archway and Rehabilitative Applications for the Shoulder and Pelvic Girdle. I opened a home studio, Core Radiance Movement, in Santa Monica, CA to provide a nurturing, private atmosphere for instruction. Last year we moved to Williamstown, MA and opened another home studio. I have a Tower, Jumping Stretching Board, Leg Extension Unit, Archway and Gyrotoner in my home studio. I said yes to too many surgeries before I discovered this system and have had 2 partial knee replacements since. The Gyrotonic system, along with a lot of hard work, has helped me address the imbalances that led to these surgeries. I work on them every day!
“Your body doesn’t have to suffer as you age. You can feel suppleness, resiliency and strength regardless of age. I am 70 years old and am still finding new places to expand, strengthen and flow!”
I started running in high school and remained an avid runner for many years. As an acting major at the University of Illinois I studied ballet, tap, modern dance and fencing. I came to California in 1979 to pursue an acting career while also teaching aerobics. I got my first job on “WKRP in Cincinnati” as Dr. Johnny Fever’s daughter and had a successful acting career for the next 15 years until I married the love of my life, Michael, and dedicated my life to raising my two beautiful boys, Nick and Justin. Now that they're full grown independent men, I am free to pursue my third career, helping folks feel better!
